My sister was in town and asked to go to Andolini's for dinner in Owasso. It's one of our local favorites and we're always happy to go back. We typically have dinner there but lunch is the same and just as good. Andolini's has great antipasta, pastas, pizzas and sandwiches. It's locally owned and just off 96th Street North.
I am totally addicted to their Caprese Antipasto. It's loaded with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil plus unexpected additions like prosciutto, artichokes, olives and roasted peppers and then drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Very tasty!!! That is usually my entree and I add a basket of garlic crustini or if I am really going crazy, their garlic knots! Be sure you grab a mint on the way out if you go with the knots, they are lethal! Golden knots of baked dough slathered with melted butter and lots of garlic, sooooo good!
Mike usually has a pasta of some sort and really likes their meat ravioli or the lasagna, although sometimes it is a little hard to get the lasagna. They use a nice meaty marinara with good tomato and Italian flavors. Portions are nice without being ridiculously big.
Their pizzas are really great. Laura and I shared a Canadian bacon with sausage and had plenty for her to take back home. One of their specialty pies is the Tenbysimo, with ten different kinds of meats. This one is a crowd pleaser and is usually ordered in the large so everyone can share. No veggies on this so all good for the meat-asauruses in our groups! The crust is medium thickness, but not dense and heavy. And they don't go crazy with the tomato sauce which always a plus in my book. I like the flavor of it but I don't want it drowning in sauce. Better to taste all the yummy meat and cheese.
I actually have a friend who's family drives from Tulsa to eat here once in a while, it is definitely worth the trip and nothing quite like elsewhere. So, come and check out Andolini's I recommend you give them a try.
